First we will discuss what kind of session are we having. Are you wanting family photos done, just some casual of you and your horse, dressed as if you were at a show. We strive for the best to show off you and your horse, so we want everything to look uniformed and nothing clashing to be a distraction in the photos.
When it comes to yourself for portrait type pictures with your horse, wear solids, some plaid, or non-crazy patterns. Bring extra clothing in case of an outfit compliments your horse better than another and also to not blend in into the background. Remember for the type of shoot you are wanting, example Christmas photos, if taken early to wear something related to that type of weather or theme.
You can have accessories, but keep in mind of your horse and how it will affect him. Is the noise too much, does he or she spook at the objects. We want to keep you and your horse comfortable, but at the same time want to achieve the style you are wanting to go for. We highly recommend you get your horse used to the situation, like riding with a dress on if you want to do that. We are not responsible for any situations for you or the horse to be in a dangerous situation.
What time is the best time to photograph and what to do if bad weather cancels the shoot?
Preferably cloudy days especially for darker horses. It is hard to schedule for cloudy days, but the best timing to also achieve photos are early morning (7 or 8 am) or 2 hours before sunset. If weather does happen to get nasty or cold/windy (depending on the temperament of your horse), we can always reschedule a different time. I highly recommend to book 2 dates down just in case if there is a weather related issue, we aren't stressing to figure out another date.
What sessions do you have and where do we take them at?
To view the sessions, we offer, please click here. I offer various ones depending on your needs. I do anything from portraits, farm shoots for sale photos or stallion services, shows, or just overall the love of your horse. All I ask is for you and your horse to be ready at the time I assign to shoot at since lighting plays a big role in photography.
I am willing to travel to the location you are wanting to shoot at. I also offer to shoot at Falcon Equestrian Center in Terrell, Texas. They have a 125’ x 225’ outdoor arena and a 90’ x 180’ covered arena for riding pictures. Beautiful paddocks and ponds for great background shots. Can achieve the black background look by shooting in the barn.
Do you do other sessions besides horses?
Yes I do! I can do bridal shoots, engagement shoots, family photos, other 4 legged friends, etc. I primarily photograph horses, as horses are my passion, but I love to adventure and do other things too!
What if I need to reschedule due to other obligations?
You can reschedule but I do recommend a 24-hour notice. Just note that 50% is non-refundable. You can always reschedule even if it takes a couple of months to get your session completed.
Will there be contracts?
Yes. I have a few contracts that will need to be signed before the start of the sessions. You will receive a copy of them.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, I require a 50% non-refundable deposit.
Will I be able to view the images after the session?
I will upload the images into my Photo Proof site for them to be viewed. Note that they aren’t going to be fully edited, or if any, so you have the chance to select the ones you would like for your package. I will have them uploaded within 48-72 hours after the session. Gallery will be private. Once selected photos and I finish the final products, the finished gallery will be displayed under my sessions album for the public to view.
Do I get all the images?
No. If you would like to purchase more images than what is in the package you can. Ask me for rates.
Can I have others with me to help?
Yes! I strongly recommend for friends and family to help out! Whether they can get your hair looking the best way or even help assist with the horse. Any extra hands help. I will have an assistant with me, but in case of last minute bookings, I won't have a helper. So I really recommend someone to help around to get the perfect look of your horse and yourself.
How do I pay for a photo shoot?
I accept cash, check (must be cleared before the delivery of images), PayPal, and all major credit cards.
